Bill’s Rockpile 2025 009
Greetings Friends! Welcome to the 2025 edition of Bill’s Rockpile, my annual listing of the songs that stuck with me, played repeatedly, added to playlists, submitted in Music League, and saved to mark them as favorites for the year.
More and more artists are pulling their music from Spotify, but this year’s compendium is available except for one song — “Altered States” by Night Terriers. As I’ve done in recent years, I have included Bandcamp links (where they were available) to the songs that can be used to play them individually. Or to buy them so you never have to worry! And check out that Night Terriers song…it’s really good!
This year’s edition has some familiar names, but there are way more first timers here which is neat. And not just one, but two songs in French! And while the show/concert season winds down this time of year, it was bountiful year in the clubs (and one Fenway Park foray). I’m still glowing from seeing The Beths in Providence then Snocaps in NYC a few days later.
This is the 20th year I have tabulated my favorites. Of course it started as a CD compilation (and only able to fit about 20 songs) but over the years morphed to online repository and ability to stream the list. Thanks to everyone that stops to check out the list. Happy Holidays!
